The Green Olive Group of restaurants consists of 3 locations in the Home Counties, namely

Henley – upon – Thames, Windsor and Chobham

The group has been around for just over 10 years and the owner – Mr Leo Charmantas is known as being innovative not only in the food that is served (which is great by the way) but also in the way he believes customer service should manifest itself.

‘It is not good enough to simply offer the best food in the best locations with the best service whilst our customers are in the restaurants – it is paramount to ensure that we as a group are accessible, flexible and ahead of our competitors in customer service levels and aims.’

Having looked after this chain since its inception and indeed, helping to put the menu together from scratch (due to our involvement in restaurants and hotels) we asked Leo to look at providing an online booking system to his potential web site visitors – after a great deal of resistance based on genuine fears of ‘losing bookings’, managing the process’, ‘fear of losing client contact and upsell opportunities’ and many more ‘reasons’ he eventually agreed that we should trial the system some 2 years ago.

Leo is now in the position to confirm that the decision to ‘add’ an online booking facility was one of his best!

So, taking all the fears and objections into account we came up with a system that not only works well, it accounts for extra bookings which account for 25% of all capacity in the three restaurants – this is obviously fantastic for the group and is an indication of the take up by web users in their area.

When questioned more deeply, Leo admitted that with the system in place it is actually easier to upsell to customers, take faster, more profitable bookings and enhance the already good customer service that is offered by the Green Olive. He also acknowledged that telephone bookings, far from going down have increased by at least 10% as a direct result of having an easy to navigate and accessible website.
